Case Study: Treatment of Complex Eye Condition with coMra Therapy

Patient Information

  • Age: 55 years old
  • Gender: Female

Medical History

  • Herpetic infection in left eye at age 10
  • Penetrating keratoplasty at age 30 due to severe corneal opacification
  • Superior iridectomy during keratoplasty

Recent Symptoms (1 year prior to treatment)

  • Decreasing visual acuity in left eye
  • Redness and discomfort in left eye
  • No improvement with corticosteroid eye drops (prescribed 3 months prior)

Initial Examination

  1. Visual Acuity:
  • Right eye: 20/25
  • Left eye: 20/60
  1. Intraocular Pressure:
  • Right eye: 16 mm Hg
  • Left eye: 40 mm Hg
  1. Other Findings:
  • Endothelial pigment discovered
  • Conjunctival hyperemia
  • Tear break-up time: < 8 seconds (both eyes)
  • Mild keratitis in left eye
  • Mild overall corneal opacification in left eye

Treatment Protocol

  • Neurology 14 protocol
  • 12 treatments, once per week over 3 months
  • Device: 905 Delta Pro model
  • Additional therapies: Acupuncture and diet recommendations

Results After 3 Months

  1. Visual Acuity:
  • Right eye: No change (20/25)
  • Left eye: Improved from 20/60 to 20/50
  1. Other Improvements:
  • Conjunctival hyperemia resolved
  • Tear break-up time increased to 13 seconds (both eyes)
  • Keratitis resolved
  • Patient reported overall improvement in eye condition

Follow-up (6 months post-treatment)

Conclusion
