Diagnosed with leukemia, Dean decided to embark on an extraordinary journey as an act of goodwill on what he believed might be his final chapter. He set out to raise funds for charity by attempting a monumental challenge—becoming the first person to swim the entire length of the Willamette River in Oregon, USA.
