A patient presented with a macular hole resulting from a vitreous detachment, a condition where the fluid in the eye pulls away from the retina. In this specific case, the vitreous remained attached to the macula, pulling the tissue and creating a hole that filled with fluid.
Initial attempts to resolve the issue were unsuccessful. The treatment approach was then refined to focus exclusively on the coMra Delta laser combined with ultrasound. Despite the ophthalmologist's initial skepticism regarding the use of ultrasound on the eye, the patient proceeded with the treatment. After one month of applying the coMra Delta laser and ultrasound, the membrane released and the macular hole closed completely, a result confirmed by follow-up imaging.
