It is possible to check it with camera as it sees wider spectrum then human eye, though most cameras have infrared filters to improve image, this includes most mobile phones and DSLRs. It makes infrared light still visible, but very subtle. It is best to use laptop or computer web camera to see what is really happening unseen in its full beauty and strength.
