Q: Garrett, when I was thinking about how to open the podcast and actually what would be the leading topic of the podcast, one of the sources I checked was your LinkedIn profile. And this is where I took the question, what if, because that’s in your description, in your introduction. And I was really curious to ask you, where have you asked the question, what if, for the last time in your life? And where did it lead you?
A: Well, Michael, I haven’t actually used the question in quite a while, and I can get into that. But really, the last time I used it is with myself. And I’ve used it with myself quite often in terms of it’s one of those questions for me that opens a gap, not really something that I sit down and I answer. And so you ask the question, where it led. Well, it’s the exploration of this unknown. But like I said, I haven’t used the question with people in a while.
Q: Have you been using that question to yourself, asking yourself, what if?
A: Absolutely. Yes, it’s been a very pertinent question in my own journey for quite a while, because like I said, when I posed the question, it creates a kind of pause and in that pause, a feeling for something new to explore. And that’s been a big part of my journey, that type of a pause and then exploration.
Q: Where have your explorations led you to?
A: Well, a lot of different paths. Some people kind of choose one path and they just stay on it. I mean, in a way, yes, I’ve stayed on it. I’ve stayed on my own path. But how I’ve explored it has been through this exploration of when I don’t see where something ends or where it goes or how it would complete itself. Then I’ve kind of answered that question. And in terms of, I don’t want to go any further down that path. I want to be on a path that I can’t see the end of.
