Dissolved Oxygen

Dissolved oxygen analysis measures the amount of gaseous oxygen (O2) dissolved in an aqueous solution. Oxygen gets into water by diffusion from the surrounding air, by aeration (rapid movement), and as a byproduct of photosynthesis. Adequate dissolved oxygen is necessary for good water quality. Oxygen is a necessary element to all forms of life.

Natural water is characterised by a balanced level of dissolved oxygen, whereas water that is stagnant, isolated, or cleaned and purified by man-made methods, is often characterised by a lower dissolved oxygen content. However in the case of RO water (reverse osmosis filtered water) the dissolved oxygen content can be unnaturally high.

Water with a too low or too high dissolved oxygen content can be detrimental to living organisms, and hence the ideal state is to restructure the water dynamics to induce a balanced dissolved oxygen state, closest to that of natural spring water.

The results of dissolved oxygen tests on normal tap water show that the coMra Wave technology increases the availability of dissolved oxygen in the water over a period of 60 minutes, with the largest change in the first 15 minutes of exposure.

A sample of the control water (tested at 55% dissolved oxygen) at ambient temperature, responded to the coMra Wave technology by making an additional 15% of the dissolved oxygen available in the active dynamics of the water structure.

Using RO water the available dissolved oxygen was found to fall from 85% to 68% re-balancing the bulk body of the water closer to natural water dynamics.

The coMra Wave technology when tested on water samples using dissolved oxygen tests show a clear, repeatable, and sustained re-balance of the available dissolved oxygen, suggesting that the water has been imprinted by the electromagnetic signature generator with a transformation towards that of natural water.

In making your own measurements of dissolved oxygen, for example, in an aquarium where the coMra Wave technology is being used to assist with water oxygenation re-balancing, we recommend the following:

• Make sure that the instrument probe is properly calibrated in free-air before immersing in water, and that the reading is stable at 100% (free-air reference level).
• Make sure that temperature remains as constant as possible during the measurements.
• Minimise agitation and movement of the probe or water to avoid erroneous readings.
• Consider taking a sample of water from the aquarium and or vessel and making a relative tested comparison against an external water control sample.
We recommend the AZ8403 Dissolved Oxygen Meter as a suitable instrument for simple dissolved oxygen measurements.
