Under no circumstances should the laser light be allowed to come into contact with the open eyes. If you're going to do the treatment anywhere near the eyes, close them. In this case, you're not going to do any damage even if the laser is shown directly on the eyes as long as they're closed, they're fine. So remember, we're using very low level radiances. And also be careful if you're in a room and there's reflective surfaces that you don't laser doesn't reflect off of that surface into someone else's eyes. Because you need to remember, just as looking at the sun can damage your eyes, so too can even a brief exposure of an open eye to the laser light lead to serious damage. These safety warnings must be followed at all times.
