3.1.15. Ultrasound

And now we come to the ultrasound. So you'll notice here, number four, there's four round plastic circles, which are covers over ultrasound transducers in the middle of the terminal in both the medical terminal and the aesthetic terminal around the infrared laser in the center. You'll also notice in the book a secondary warning and that is whenever you're treating a stationary point on the brain Ultrasound setting off. If you're scanning, you can leave it on. Sometimes get asked about the ultrasound in the delta and does it require a gel? No, it doesn't require a gel, and I'll explain a little bit more why. Generally speaking, the ultrasound people are accustomed to is in the higher frequency range and uses a large amount of power. And they use both the higher frequency range in the as well as the higher power because they need that frequency to be able to see the detail inside the body and need the power to transfer that frequency into the body. Therefore, they need the gel to get the maximum transference. The ultrasound in the delta is much different. Firstly, we're using a much lower frequency ultrasound, which would be no good for imaging because it's a very long wavelength. So you can't see detail. However, It's a very good wavelength for therapeutic use because it travels very easily through the air and through tissue. And we also use extremely low level of ultrasound because we're not trying to do anything other than provide a very gentle mechanical vibration impetus to help at a
